The Cisco QSFP-100G-FR-S 100GBASE-FR Single Lambda QSFP28 optical transceiver module is designed to achieve 100GBASE Ethernet throughput of up to 2 km using single mode fiber (SMF) at 1310nm wavelength via duplex LC connectors.
100 Gb Ethernet signals are transmitted over a single wavelength using onboard PAM4 modulation and FEC. The transceiver includes a Broadcom chip that converts the 4x25G NRZ electrical signal into a 1x100G PAM-4 optical signal.
The transceiver complies with QSFP28 MSA, IEEE 802.3cd, and 100G Lambda MSA standards. Digital diagnostics are also available via the I2C interface specified by the QSFP28 MSA to allow access to real-time operational parameters.
With these features, this easy-to-install hot-swappable transceiver is suitable for a variety of applications, such as data centers, 100G Ethernet, and 400G to 100G split-line applications.
