The MPC5E supports the enhanced Switch Control Board (MX-SCBE) and MX-SCBE2 on MX240, MX480, and MX960 routers.

The MPC5E does not support the legacy SCB (MX-SCB). The MPC5E supports the Switch Fabric Board (SFB) on MX2010 and MX2020 routers.

MPC5E does not interoperate with the existing DPCs, except the Multiservices DPC (MS-DPC).
