The Cisco QSFP-40G-SR-BD QSFP+ module is designed for 40 Gb Ethernet links over duplex multimode fiber (MMF). The transceiver complies with QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba XLPPI electrical interfaces.
It enables data center operators to upgrade from 10G to 40G without changing the fiber infrastructure, thus saving fiber resources. Digital diagnostics are available through the I2C interface specified by the QSFP+ MSA to allow access to real-time operational parameters.
With these features, this easy-to-install hot-swappable transceiver is suitable for a variety of applications, such as 40G Ethernet and enterprise data centers.
