The Cisco QSFP-4x10G-LR-S QSFP+ module is designed for 40GBASE Ethernet throughput up to 10 km using 1310nm wavelength single-mode fiber (SMF) via MTP/MPO-12 connectors. The transceiver is QSFP+ MSA compliant.
Digital diagnostics are also available via the I2C interface specified by the QSFP+ MSA to allow access to real-time operational parameters. With these features, this easy-to-install hot-swappable transceiver is suitable for a variety of applications, such as data centers, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distributed layer applications.
Note: If you want to use this transceiver to tap a 40G signal into four 10G signals, the interface of the device needs to support the split-line function.
